“Our culture is obsessed with reality makeover shows and the outward appearance of beauty.  But before we can makeover the external, it’s so much more important to look at what’s happening in our spirits.” – Natalie Grant, Christian singer & songwriter

Our health and well-being extends way beyond our physical appearance – it also includes our emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual needs.   If these needs are not met, we end up falling back into the same behavior patterns.  A true transformation – one that is sustainable and which will NOT lead us back to the same, old habits – occurs by FIRST looking at what’s happening on the inside.

Many women struggle to reach their full potential – whether in health, fitness, or life in general - due to patterns of self-destructive behavior, depression, fear, hopelessness or a low self-esteem.  They don’t truly believe they are worth it, they feel guilty for taking the time to care for themselves, or they feel out of control, giving in to temptations that they know are detrimental to their health and well-being.  They want to change, but often give up because they don’t believe they have the willpower or strength needed to follow through.

Broken to Beautiful was created to provide hope and encouragement for women so that they can overcome the obstacles in life that are holding them back from reaching their full potential.  We are not alone in our struggles and can move beyond our present circumstances.  We can even live above our circumstances while in the midst of them by staying focused on Him.

The answer to overcoming obstacles isn’t more willpower - it’s His power.  To break the cycle of repeated attempts and failures we must STOP relying on our own strength.  Simply stated – we can’t do it on our own.  There is only ONE true way to change what’s happening on the inside and allow the broken pieces of our life to be transformed into something beautiful.  That way is through the spirit of God that lives within each one of us.

As Christians, we have a power greater than willpower.  God gives us His power - in the form of the Holy Spirit - to help us in our weakness (Romans 8:26).  By relying on our faith and the support of others who have been through similar circumstances, we can move past the barriers that have enslaved us, grow to reach our maximum potential, and fulfill God’s true purpose for our lives.

“For the Spirit that God has given us does not make us fearful or timid; instead, His Spirit fills us with power, love, and self-control.”  2 Timothy 1:7

Will you allow someone else’s story to be the message you need to break the cycle and move forward?  Will you allow your experience to draw you closer to God as you put your faith and trust in Him?  If you are ready to accept His grace and the support of others who genuinely want to see you succeed, I invite you to check out the real-life testimonies of women whose lives have been radically transformed by their faith!  I pray that you will allow their stories to speak to you, that you will be able to let go of the behaviors or feelings that have held you back so that you can move forward, and that you will allow God's strength and power to transform you from the inside out!  You are His masterpiece and your brokenness, in His hands, can be made beautiful!

CALL TO ACTIONDo you have a story that you are willing to share with others?  If God has changed your life, you can be sure that He wants to use your story to change someone else's life.  Making your story public takes courage, but it is when we trust God and step outside of our comfort zone that He allows us to grow and we encourage others to grow.  Will you take that step?  Will you allow your "mess" to be the message that could radically transform someone else's life?  If you are interested in sharing your story, please email me with Broken To Beautiful in the subject line and I will be in touch with you.  Thank you!

"Everybody’s got a story to tell.  And everybody’s got a wound to be healed.  I want to believe there’s beauty here…" – Plumb (Song: Need You Now).

"If I told you my story, you would hear hope that wouldn't let go.  If I told you my story, you would hear love that never gave up. If I told you my story, you would hear life, but it wasn't mine.  If I should speak then let it be of the grace that is greater than all my sin, of when justice was served and where mercy wins, of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in.  To tell you my story is to tell of Him."  – Big Daddy Weave (Song: My Story)
