I had been thinking of taking my health and wellness to the next level but didn’t quite know what that looked like. I received an invitation to join Jen’s “challenge group,” which involved exercising and eating right.  At first I was apprehensive.  I had been in a couple of groups in the last couple of years and they had left me feeling worse about myself than ever.  I finally decided it was time for a real change and I joined the group.

In the last few years I have tried and failed to lose weight and keep it off.  This time, I was going to follow everything to the letter.  I worked out. I went shopping for all the items on the grocery list and I started a journey I hope I never come off of!  I started out with feelings of doubt in myself, but I was determined to follow it through – no matter what.  I loved that Jen incorporated the faith component (along with the nutrition and exercise).

At the end of the 21 days, I had lost 11 pounds!  For me that was huge!  I hadn’t been able to lose anything in a long time.  I was so excited that I wanted to continue on this journey and not stop. But it was more than just losing weight, eating right, and feeling good.  It was about the change that had occurred in my mindset.  I was learning about having His peace and what true joy really was.

After four months, five rounds of 21 Day Fix (and 21 Day Fix Extreme), and working on making better eating choices, I am over 20 pounds down from when I first started.  Being part of Jen’s group was a springboard to being committed to a healthier lifestyle.  For the first time (in a long time) I experienced real results – not only physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  It completed changed how I viewed food.  Truly transformative!
