“Jen was our best speaker. She encouraged a safe space where we could be vulnerable and share afterwards. No other speaker planted such seeds that helped continue the conversation even after she was done speaking. Everything she said and all her visuals were so focused and helpful. She was natural and put everyone at ease. I really think she has found her calling, and I hope God will use her to reach many people. I felt uplifted, connected, seen, and inspired after her talk.” – Jamie P., Neelsville Presbyterian Church MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)
Understanding the intricate relationship between our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being is the central theme woven throughout Jen’s teaching. Her ministry was inspired by her passion for healthy living, her faith, and her desire to help others move toward healing and wholeness. Her background as an educator, health coach, and women’s ministry leader combine to bring God’s Word to life and inspire the audience to take action!
Jen would love to speak at at your next event! Her speaking topics include:
1. From Hardship to Healing – Inviting Our Pain to Propel Us Toward Wholeness
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
Everyone battles some form of physical or emotional pain, whether visible to the outside world or not. Pain surfaces an awareness of our own brokenness, which is difficult for us to bear. It disrupts our desire for comfort and ease—two things our culture puts on a pedestal. It can lead us to feel like reduced versions of ourselves, helpless and insufficient compared to the life we once knew. But, there is good news! We can pivot from allowing our pain to lead us down a regrettable path toward anxiety, depression, or defeat to instead inviting it to propel us toward wholeness. In this session, Jen shares her own experiences with chronic pain, along with five ways we can invite it to help us find healing, encounter God, and discover a new way of living.
2. The Secret to Sustainable Change – Achieving a Lasting Transformation
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2
Many women struggle to reach their potential due to self-destructive behavior, lack of motivation, or a low self-esteem. They may feel guilty for taking time to care for themselves or give in to temptations that are detrimental to their health. They want to change, but give up because they don’t believe they have the willpower or strength needed to follow through. In this session, participants will discover the one thing that’s needed to overcome obstacles standing in the way of a complete, lasting transformation. They will explore how a simple perspective shift can change the way they view self-care and identify three ways the Bible calls us to use our bodies to honor and glorify God.
3. Winning the War Against Anxiety – A Kingdom-Minded Approach to Improving Our Mental Health
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
Anxiety disorders in the United States are the number one mental health problem among women. While the presence of daily stressors is unavoidable, we can take practical steps to alleviate our stress before it leads to depression, anxiety, or other negative health effects. In this session, Jen will identify three key contributors to anxiety and share strategies to clear the mental clutter, live in the moment, and experience God’s peace that surpasses all understanding (Phil 4:6).
4. Becoming Strong – Building Physical and Mental Stamina
“For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” James 1:3-4 NLT
Most people go about behavior change backwards. They focus on the outcome and try to change the the outside in (the WHAT). They set goals without considering how their beliefs, including assumptions and biases, play into the process (the WHY). In this session, participants will discover how to build healthy habits that are tethered to their identity as followers of Christ. They’ll identify and replace faulty beliefs with God’s truth so they can develop the physical and mental endurance necessary to care for their bodies, withstand adversity, and become more like Jesus.
5. Lies We Believe About Pain & The Scriptural Truths that Set Us Free
“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32
What lies or limiting beliefs are preventing you from fulfilling your purpose and experiencing the abundant life God promises? In this session, Jen shares (from personal experience) common lies people living with pain believe, along with the scriptural truths that set set us free. Participants will identify defeating thoughts that have held them back and Bible verses to battle against them so they can find true freedom in Christ.
6. Find Your Fire – Living on Purpose to Pursue God’s Plan
“Everything, absolutely everything…got started in Him and finds its purpose in Him.” Col 1:16 MSG
Most of us go through live never fully understanding our true purpose or running from it. In this session, participants will explore the unique passions, spiritual gifts, talents, and experiences that give us insight into who we are and what we were meant to do. They will discover ways to seek God’s guidance and wisdom for how to use their gifts to serve others and live on purpose for the unique purpose they were created.
7. Adopting a Holistic Approach to our Health
“Spend your time and energy in training yourself for spiritual fitness. Physical exercise has some value, but spiritual exercise is much more important for it promises a reward in both this life and the next.” 1 Timothy 4:8
Many of us strive to achieve “balance” in our health, but to do so implies all areas should be equally weighted. The Bible calls us to prioritize spiritual training, while also giving our bodies to God as a living and holy sacrifice (Romans 12:1-2). This session explores how we can adopt a holistic approach to our health and embrace daily disciplines that invite God to lead us toward greater health and wholeness.
8. 3 Keys to Developing a Thriving Faith
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30
God empowers us to care for our physical, emotional, and social well-being; fulfill our personal responsibilities; developing a thriving faith; and make a positive impact on the world without burning out. In this session, Jen will share three transforming steps, modeled by Jesus Himself, to move toward spiritual maturity. Participants will learn the importance of practicing solitude with God, embracing community, and engaging in ministry where they use their gifts to serve.
9. 6 Ways Suffering Can Make You More Like Jesus
“I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.” Philippians 3:10-11
There are some things we must learn the hard way. If you feel like you’ve “hit a wall,” life is not over. This is part of your journey toward discovering the most powerful lessons in life and learning what’s most important. Knowing pain is what propels us to the next stage is liberating because it gives us hope! It enables us to let go of idealizations of what we thought our life would look like to move forward into what God has for us. In this session, Jen will share six ways suffering makes us more like Jesus, including developing humility, patience, compassion, and resilience. As our character is shaped through suffering, God gives us treasures in the darkness that encourage, equip, and empower us to persevere (Isaiah 45:3).
